Legalisierung von Cannabis in Deutschland: Der aktuelle Stand

Most people spend about a third of their life in the bedroom. This is reason enough to pay special attention to the design of this room. But Professor Eckart RĂ¼ther of the Prosomno Institute for Sleep Medicine in Munich knows that the feel-good atmosphere in most bedrooms leaves a lot to be desired. The supposed places of well-being are quickly transformed into small storage rooms.

So if you want to remodel this room, you usually have to start with a cleaning. This is the only way to turn the bedroom into a room with great potential for relaxation.

Choose the right wall color

The choice of the color of the walls must already be well thought out. White walls, which radiate neutrality with this color scheme, are very popular. However, if you want to bring color into the bedroom, you should opt for cool shades.

Colors such as purple, green or blue tones have a calming effect.

On the other hand, strong and revitalizing colors like red or yellow have no place in your own bedroom. Wallpapers with wild patterns also shake things up. Finally, avoid sensory overload before falling asleep.

As little noise as possible

To reduce irritation, furniture, and decorative elements should be kept as sparse as possible. It is advisable to reduce visual and acoustic stimuli as much as possible. Who doesn’t allergic sufferers can use rugs in the bedroom to reduce noise? Otherwise, curtains and curtains produce a similar effect.

Stretched fabrics attached to furniture are also a useful method of absorbing sound. Selected wood materials such as veneers also achieve a similar effect. However, the capabilities of these options are quickly exhausted. For example, if the bedroom is on a busy street, even these measures will not bring peace.

Furnishing tips for bedroom lighting
The purpose of good bedroom lighting is to minimize stimuli

What role does the light source play?

The purpose of good bedroom lighting is also to minimize stimuli. If you use several light sources, you can adjust the lighting to the positions for which the lighting is required. A ceiling light forms the basis of basic lighting. Adjusting the brightness of this lamp depends on individual preferences. Often, however, the light sources do not have to be as bright as in rooms such as the kitchen.

The respective need for brightness depends mainly on the furniture, the floor, the color of the walls and the size of the room.

Darker shades reflect much less light. However, it is important to keep the amount of blue light to a minimum. The lower the blue light emission, the easier it is to fall asleep. Therefore, when in doubt, warm white light is the best option. The so-called color temperature is specified in Kelvin. The lower this value, the warmer the light emitted.

Features of LEDs

Modern LED lighting also comes into play when the classic bedside lamp reaches its limits. A popular solution, for example, is indirect lighting under the bed with an integrated motion sensor. When you get up at night, this technology ensures that the exit from the room is dimly lit. However, the lighting does not dazzle.

A major advantage of LED lighting is that these light sources no longer get as hot as lamps that were used in the past. This is why this technology is not limited to special surface-mounted luminaires for furniture. When purchasing LEDs, it is important to always pay attention to color rendering. The respective value is specified with the code numbers “Ra” for “General Benchmark” or “CRI” for “Color Rendering Index” and must be at least 80.
